Our Approach

Our techniques are underpinned by evidence-based practice and backed by robust clinical reasoning. We are thorough as a matter of course, and will address everything that needs treating to resolve the problem. We do not over treat or treat unnecessarily: we find it, fix it then leave it alone.

We alleviate pain rapidly, treating the cause for long-lasting relief so that normal activities can be resumed as quickly and as safely as possible. We successfully treat complex and chronic conditions, many of which have been unsuccessfully treated elsewhere.

 

What We Treat

Octopus Physiotherapists and Chiropractors:

  • Treat problems with the joints, muscles, nerves, ligaments, cartilage, bursa, fat pads, tendons and all other tissues of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Specialized care in diagnosing, treating, and managing joint, muscle, and nerve conditions, with a special focus on spinal health.
  • Assess all these aspects of the musculoskeletal system by asking lots of questions including medical history and carrying out tests to the different structures.
  • Diagnose the structures causing the pain and the process that has caused the problem.
  • Use hands on techniques such as joint manipulations and specific massage techniques to mobilise stiff joints and release tight soft tissues.
  • Correct static postures and retrain movement patterns to treat the biomechanical cause of the problem, enable healing and prevent recurrence.
  • Give strengthening exercises including endurance, plyometrics and power.
