Octopus Clinic is Open for Face to Face Physiotherapy and Osteopathy Consultations: Our Covid Policy
We are up and running with COVID measures in place
Octopus Clinic Blackfriars is open for face-to-face Physiotherapy and Osteopathy consultations. We have put the following measures in place to reduce the risk to our staff, patients, and public health. If you are considering coming for a face-to-face appointment it is essential that you read the following.
Cleaning and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• After every appointment, your physiotherapist or osteopath will clean all surfaces that have been touched by either the clinician or the patients with alcohol-based spray. This includes the plinths, plastic pillow covers, seat handles, and door handles.
• Couch covers and pillowcases will not be used. Towels will be single-use only.
• Disposable, single-use couch roll will be used on the couch and pillows.
• Professional cleaners will clean the clinic daily.
• Your physiotherapist or osteopath will be wearing gloves, an apron, and an IIR facemask
Before your appointment
We advise that you continue with virtual sessions unless there is a clinical need for hands-on physiotherapy or osteopathy. We have done everything we can to reduce the risk of our clinicians and patients contracting Covid-19. However, if you come for face-to-face treatment, please be aware that we cannot eliminate the risk of you contracting Covid-19 as it is an airborne virus.
Please do not come in if you or one of your household is in a higher risk group including, but not exclusively, those who are immunosuppressed and or have underlying heart or lung conditions.
If you have traveled in the past fourteen days please follow UK government advice on self-quarantine and self-isolation which you can find on their website here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public
Please do not come in if you or one of your household has had any symptoms or tested positive in the last ten days including, but not exclusively, a fever over 38 degrees, cough, loss of taste, shortness of breath, sore throat, or headaches, unless you have had a confirmed negative PCR test. The NHS website contains all the updated information you need on the symptoms to look out for and advice on what do to if you think you might have it. Please follow this link for more information: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
During and After Your Appointment
Please wait in the main waiting area in the foyer of the building, not in the clinic itself. Please maintain two meters from anyone else in the waiting area.
Please wear a face mask for the entire time that you are in the building.
We will take your temperature before you enter the clinic to ensure you do not have a fever using an infrared thermometer.
We will ask you to clean your hands with alcohol-based gel before you enter the clinic.
The doors to the treatment room and clinic will be left open to maximize ventilation except for when they need to be closed for your privacy.
We ask you to make payments by bank transfer after leaving the clinic rather than on-site.
If you develop any symptoms in the ten days following an appointment, please notify us immediately.
If you have any suggestions, questions or feedback regarding your face-to-face or video consultations with us please do not hesitate to contact me firstname.lastname@example.org.
