Marni Cochrane

Chartered Physiotherapist
BSc (Hons) MSCP HPC

‘After two c-sections within one year, I wanted to get back to my running but my body didn’t like the idea so much. Marni helped me to be back on track in no time. She is an amazing professional very knowledgeable and very good at empathizing with the patient needs. Really happy I met her!‘

I had entered the 2014 London Marathon in April. I was not a runner, in fact, I hadn’t run a long distance in about 5-10 years. As I began my training, it soon became clear that I couldn’t even run 1 mile without severe shin splints and it was not a pain I could run through. Marni has an enthusiastic and intelligent approach, where you feel you are learning a lot at the same time as being treated. She assessed my running style, educated me on the best trainers and educated me on good alignment and biomechanics. We worked on weekly strengthening techniques building up other muscles etc, and with a lot of advice and regular physio sessions with Marni I was able to achieve 8,10,12 and then 20 miles by Feb/March.

I recently saw Marni at Octopus Clinic after suffering a back strain playing hockey. The treatment I received was excellent and highly effective. Marni is a friendly, professional and very competent physio and I would highly recommend her and the rest of the team at Octopus Clinic.

‘Simply the best: Knowledge, expertise, kindness and lovely healing hands.’

‘I saw Marni to check my shoulder following a bicycle accident. I was very impressed by her professional manner and thorough assessment of my injury. I would recommend Marni and the team at Octopus without hesitation.’

Marni ran her own sports massage business for five years before gaining her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. After this, she worked with trauma and elective orthopaedic patients at Frimley Hospital, at a number of RAF and Navy bases as their on-site physiotherapist, and at The London Clinic in Harley Street where she continues to have an excellent reputation with London’s leading Orthopaedic and Sports Doctors for the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal patients.

Always keen to further her knowledge, she has numerous post-graduate qualifications under her belt including advanced: soft tissue techniques; taping; core stability; running injuries; Pilates, and acupuncture.

Since qualifying, she has worked most weekends pitchside for amateur and professional rugby league and union clubs.  She has worked with GB basketball, GB gymnastics and had the great honor of working poolside in the aquatics centre during the Olympic Games at London 2012, as well as in the athletes’ village medical centre during the Paralympic Games.

Since the birth of her two children, Marni has specialized in treating ante-natal and post-natal women with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and other associated pregnancy related pain and symptoms. She is working with the Birth Trauma Association to better maternity services in the UK and alongside her work at Octopus Clinic runs her own practice in Wapping called Cor London. You can find out more about women’s pelvic health physio here.

Marni also has a French and Spanish degree, lived in Paris for three years, has worked in Honduras, enjoys playing hockey, downhill skiing, and photography and won a British Gold Medal in gymnastics!
