Orthotics for Knee Pain

Knee pain affects millions of people in the UK – a third of all adults over the age of 45 suffer from it.

The knee is one of the body’s largest and most complex joints and is unsurprisingly vulnerable to strains, sprains, swollen or torn ligaments and even gout. And nearly five million Britons have painful osteoarthritis of the knee, the result of general wear and tear.

So what can you do about it? A recent report in the Canadian Medical Journal found that a common type of knee surgery called arthroscopy – which involves vacuuming out bits of debris and scar tissue – does little to help osteoarthritis.

So what else can you do about it? And what role could Orthotics play?  Read this article to find out.
